Acrylic nails are my favourite go to style and I have been wearing them on and off for about 3 years. I do have to admit I don't give my natural nails enough of a break from acrylics as I know i should do, but i am trying to change that and break out of the habit of getting infill after infill.
I have found that once I take my acrylics off, my natural nails would be thin and weak which is not very healthy and very annoying to deal with.
The most important step is removing the acrylic nails, I wouldn't recommend you trying to take off your acrylics yourself, as you are more likely to damage your natural nails if you do this incorrectly , but below are links to how to remove acrylic at home.
Once the acrylics are removed, (depending on how long you have had them on) your natural nails may appear to be dry,thin and brittle. If you decided to go to a nail salon to get your acrylics removed they will treat your nails by shaping and buffering they will also apply oil to your cuticles which will promote healthy nail growth.

These tips will help to repair any damage to your natural nails that were caused from having acrylic nails, this process requires patience as it is not a speedy process. Don't get me wrong i am not saying to never have acrylics because i know i will be getting them again in a few weeks, but having a break from acrylics and caring for your natural nails is essential for healthy nails!
