Like the rest of the world you are probably watching and enjoying the Olympics, athletes and fans all over the world have their own unique way of expressing themselves and in this case its through nail art.
Whether its by wearing their countries flag on their nails, the olympic rings or subtle colours representing their country, below are some of the best nail art designs inspired by Rio 2016. Long acrylic nails are constantly in style and they are one of my favourite nail styles to wear, although they are a gorgeous way to wear your nails there are defiantly certain struggles that go along with having long acrylic nails. In no particular order, here are 15 of the most annoying struggles of having long acrylic nails. The new must-have nail trend to hit the nail industry are chrome nails also known as mirror manicure. This shiny look can be achieved using various methods such as chrome nail polish, highly pigmented powder or metallic nail wraps, this look can be created in a number of colours. Depending on the method you can easily try this style at home or just ask your local nail salon. I am defiantly going to try this style soon! below are examples and tutorials of chrome nails/ mirror manicure Nail artists are one of my favourite people to follow on Instagram and I am constantly finding myself getting inspiration for my next nail design from them, but then I've sadly realised my local nail salon may not be able to create the nail designs exactly how I want them.
I've rounded up the top 10 nail artists that I follow on Instagram, their nail designs range from a simple manicure to the best artistic designs I've seen, if you love nails and art make sure you follow these nail artist. I am always looking for new nail artists to follow so feel free to tell me about them in the comment section below. Acrylic nails are my favourite go to style and I have been wearing them on and off for about 3 years. I do have to admit I don't give my natural nails enough of a break from acrylics as I know i should do, but i am trying to change that and break out of the habit of getting infill after infill. I have found that once I take my acrylics off, my natural nails would be thin and weak which is not very healthy and very annoying to deal with. The most important step is removing the acrylic nails, I wouldn't recommend you trying to take off your acrylics yourself, as you are more likely to damage your natural nails if you do this incorrectly , but below are links to how to remove acrylic at home.

If you decided to go to a nail salon to get your acrylics removed they will treat your nails by shaping and buffering they will also apply oil to your cuticles which will promote healthy nail growth. My top tips for natural healthy nails * Apply strengthening products * Trim and shape your nails * Give yourself a manicure every few weeks These tips will help to repair any damage to your natural nails that were caused from having acrylic nails, this process requires patience as it is not a speedy process. Don't get me wrong i am not saying to never have acrylics because i know i will be getting them again in a few weeks, but having a break from acrylics and caring for your natural nails is essential for healthy nails! Glitter nail polish is lovely to wear but can be annoying to say the least to remove using the traditional method, so I have put together a simple step by step guide to removing glitter nail polish in under 5 minutes :). Hopefully this guide will encourage you to wear glitter nail polish more often, seeing as you now have an easy way to remove it!
Colours are a way of expressing yourself without saying a word. Use this chart to work out what your choice in nail colour says about you.
If your anything like me and have a major obsession with nail polish and anything nail related, you will probably have a huge collection of nail polish and nail accessories taking over your room. After my collection increased to over 60 bottles of nail polish, i came to the conclusion that they need to be sorted out asap.
Rather than spending money on plastic display stands (which are great if you have the space for them) my tip to you is to re-use old gift boxes (ideally ones that have a lid) that you tend to get from bath sets and even candle sets. This allows you to organise your nail polish in anyway you like from colour to brand, the boxes are then easy to store on top of each other to save space and they also look gorgeous on your shelf. |
